My Training

I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program.

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

Complementing my nutritional training is my yoga background.  I am a fully trained Yoga teacher, registered with Yoga Alliance.

I completed my first 200 hour teacher training at Inner Light Yoga Center in 2007.  That same year I trained as a Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga teacher, so that I could better assist office workers, the elderly and the infirm. Starting out on the chair is a great way for some students to overcome their hesitations about getting down on a mat, and provides many of the same benefits.

In 2009 I added Thai Yoga massage to my resume, through the Lotus Palm School.

Continuing my education, I studied with Sue Elkind and Naime Jezzeny at Dig Yoga, and in 2010 I completed my Anusara Yoga teacher training, greatly deepening and broadening my knowledge and what I had to offer to my clients.

I believe that finding our inner calm is essential to experiencing true health. Yogic breathing, chanting and postures can be a perfect addition to even a 'non-yogi's' daily practice, to move forward towards that goal.
